General Information
Rejoyn is a digital therapeutic intended for the treatment of depressive disorder episodes, commonly referred to as depression. It is intended to be used alongside usual care provided by a Healthcare Professional.
The intended patient population is adults over 18 years of age who have a diagnosis of depressive disorder.
Rejoyn is only available if your doctor or therapist requests an access code for you. Ask your doctor or therapist any medical questions you have about Rejoyn or other treatments, and make sure to talk to them before using Rejoyn.
Rejoyn is formed of three components that provide a different way to treat depression: therapeutic lessons; brain exercises; and text messages and in-app notifications.
To find out more about how Rejoyn works, watch this video here.
The brain exercises in Rejoyn are designed to activate the parts of your brain that are involved in emotion recognition and memory. Activating these two parts of the brain at the same time is believed to help strengthen the connection between them. This may help the brain better process emotions and improve symptoms of depression.
If you want to know more about the efficacy of the app, please talk to your doctor or therapist, or click here to learn more about the science behind Rejoyn.
Rejoyn comprises an active treatment period involving 6 weeks of alternating therapeutic lessons and brain exercises, followed by a 4-week extension period during which you will have on-demand access to the therapeutic lessons (10 weeks total).
If you experience any side effects from the app, please inform your doctor or therapist and contact us on +44 (0) 808 168 6726 or via email at OPUKSafety@otsuka.co.uk.
If you miss a day for any reason, do not worry. You can catch up by doing two tasks the next day to stay on track with your weekly schedule, but please note that you cannot do more than two tasks per day.
At the end of each week, any remaining therapeutic lessons for that week are unlocked so you can view them later. However, the previous week’s brain exercises will not be available for later use.
Rejoyn cannot send any reports, alerts or warnings to your Healthcare Professional. If you feel that your depressive symptoms are worsening or if you have feelings or thoughts of harming yourself or others, please contact your Healthcare Professional, dial 999 or go to the nearest Accident and Emergency Department immediately.
Rejoyn is a short-term treatment programme designed to last for 6 weeks, plus 4 additional weeks of on-demand access to therapeutic lessons. Talk to your doctor or therapist about what you should do when you finish the programme.

Accessing Rejoyn
The Google Play Store and Apple App Store may only display apps that are compatible with your smartphone. Please ensure you have the latest operating system installed on your smartphone and update if needed. If you do not have a compatible smartphone, please discuss your treatment options with your doctor or therapist.
When you open the app for the first time, you will need to enter a unique access code.
The access code is sent out via email or given to you directly by your doctor or therapist, who will request an access code for you with your permission.
Make sure you are entering the correct code. If it is not working, please contact the Support Centre on +44 (0) 203 375 8575 (Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00).
Rejoyn is designed to support patients with depression, so it is important that access is only provided through a qualified doctor or therapist.
- The access code ensures only patients who have been recommended Rejoyn by a qualified doctor or therapist are able to use the app
- Email verification is required to set up your account and ensure that your information is correct
- Phone number verification is needed because part of the Rejoyn treatment programme involves text messages
The three authentication steps are a one-time process, so you will not need to do this again.
If you have not received your access code, first confirm with your doctor or therapist that a code has been requested and generated. Your doctor or therapist may be able to provide you with your access code directly. You can also receive your access code by email, so remember to check your junk/spam folder.
If you have not received your email verification, first check that you have entered the correct email address in the app. If this is correct, remember to check your junk/spam folder.
If you have not received your verification text message, first check that you have entered the correct phone number in the app.
If you continue to have problems with any of the above steps, please contact the Support Centre +44 (0) 203 375 8575 (Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00).
Text messages and in-app notifications
The text messages are a key part of the treatment programme and, alongside in-app notifications, encourage you to complete exercises and help reinforce learnings from the therapeutic lessons.
Text messages, alongside in-app notifications, can help in building a routine that may make it easier for you to stay on track with your treatment. The text messages are important because they reinforce the skills taught in the therapeutic lessons and encourage completion of the programme.
Should you wish to turn off the text messages, you can do so at any time by replying 'STOP'.
Text messages from Rejoyn are linked with your registered account and do not come from the app itself, so deleting the app will not stop text messages from being sent to your phone.
You can turn off text messages after you have deleted the app, or at any time, by replying 'STOP'.
